Friday, February 11 - Storytime

Tonight was our first night at home with all of us minus dad.  Dad is gone playing hockey tonight.  We went to my mom and dads for supper and to bath the kids...as I have said before, I am so happy my parents are in town!

At bedtime we had story time with all three boys!  It was fun and Carter was so excited to have him listen to stories with us.  Then Carter and Brandon went to bed so good for mama!!

- loves to tell everyone his baby brother is Corbin Jacob

A few things about Carter throughout the last week
- is so fond of his new roll of biggest brother

- likes to talk to Corbin while he gets his diaper changed
- looking forward to taking Corbin to school to show his class

Sunday, February 6th - Welcome Home Corbin

Today was the big day that we brought baby Corbin home!  I find the going home days so emotional.  You are leaving the safe comfort of the hospital and nurses and venturing into your new world with an additional human being that you are responsible for.....wow.  As we were leaving the hospital I remembered walking down the same stairs for the first time when we left the hospital with Carter and being overwhelmed, in a good way, with the fact that we now had a child.  Today as we left and we were walking down those same stairs I was a little overcome by the fact that we now have three amazing children to love and care for....I feel so blessed!

As we drove up the street we could see the boys looking out the window from the couch waiting for us.  Their faces were beaming with excitement!  What a wonderful site.  Once getting home, the boys had to hold him and we tried to settle in a little.  My mom brought supper over for us and helped out with some chores around the house and the boys.  I have to say I am so lucky to have my mom only a few blocks away...she is a wonderful help!  I truly hope she realizes how much it is all appreciated!

Friday, February 4th - Three Boys

Today Carter and Brandon met their new baby brother Corbin. They were both so excited to meet him.  When they came into the hospital room they had big smiles on their faces and were asking where he was.

The boys stayed the past two nights at my parents house.  When they woke up this morning my parents shared the exciting news with them and had a picture to show them that we had text to him after he was born.  Mom said they were both really excited.  Too cute!

Thursday Feb 3 ~ Baby Corbin is Born

Baby Corbin Jacob was born at 11:40 p.m. on February 3, 2011!  After a long 24 hours leading up to the big event...this amazing, precious, bundle of joy has joined our world and we are welcoming him with open arms!! So amazing and exciting to meet you!  It has been 9 months leading up to this big event and we are so excited that the big day has arrived!

Wednesday Feb 2 ~ Baby??

As due date approaches tomorrow, I can only wonder when the big day will be.  Finding out yesterday that my Dr. will be away for a few days left me a little unsettled about the whole ordeal.  I have now had some time to digest the info and thanks to a good friends words of encouragement think it will all be OK!  I guess I really have no choice right?

As the birth of baby #3 approaches I can't help but be a little anxious to start with.  Reflecting over the approaching birth of the other two I remember that each experience was completely different.  Carter was induced on his due date so it wasn't a "natural" progression of going into labour, getting to the hospital on time and all that jazz.  Then he was a difficult labour, I think partially because he was being forced into this world not entirely on his own doing!  Then with B, baby #2, my water did "leak" so we knew it was go time and to get to the city.  This time around, I wonder how it will happen?  I guess time will tell.....

I guess since it could be any day now I had better make sure I have a few things packed and ready to go.  My biggest fear...forgetting the camera...so needless to say it has been somewhat attached to my hip every time I go somewhere, just in case!  I did pack a few things in the diaper bag last night and get the soothers sterilized and ready (yes, I am a soother user and don't know what I would do without them!)  I guess I better also get that one last load of baby laundry done that includes the bedding for the bassinet when we come home.

I can't wait to meet this little life that has been growing inside of me.  As the big day approaches I do honestly have to say that I have some mixed emotions.  I love being pregnant and feeling the movements inside.  I can't help but wonder if this will be the last time I will feel these movements or if we will once again embark on this adventure....I guess only time will tell............

Tuesday Feb 1 ~ Hair Cut Day

Wow, can't believe that we turned the calendar to February today.  This month is sure to bring big change to our life....in a fantastic way!

The boys were at daycare today while I enjoyed a nice day at home, minus the news that my Dr will be away for a few days...that caused just a little anxiety in my world.  Lunch out at home with a great friend, I love lunch dates!  Then this afternoon it was haircut time and a play at "Griffin's" house.  My kids love going to get their hair cut! Here are a few pics from our hair cuts.  (Blair told me about a week ago that he was willing to pay for hair cuts for the boys...guess that was the cue that he didn't like the cuts I gave them myself back in November :))
