A Few Pics From November

November....where??

I'm not sure where the month of November went.  It has kind of been a whirlwind around this place with work being busy for both Blair and I.  The kids are troopers though and take it in stride, we are very fortunate to have fantastic babysitters  and seem to be able to juggle as a "tag team" operation!

Throughout the month C had his first hockey game and is absolutely loving it!  It's so great to see.  B enjoys hanging out at the rink and can't wait till the buzzer goes and he can have a snack!

We moved the boys into share a room so that we can get the other room ready for baby.  The boys have both adjusted amazing and are sleeping great.

We had our first parent teacher interview for C and were very pleased with what his teacher had to say.  He also received Student of the Month and was very excited to share that with us.  The same day he received the award, he lost his first tooth.  The tooth fairy made a visit that night and he was pumped!

B had a huge break through the end of the month and is now diaper free!! It was a slow start but once he got onto it, he has been doing great since.  Wow, that is nice not changing 3 year old poopy diapers!

So those are just a few of the things that stand out for our November, can't believe how fast it went!  Now onto December!

31 Weeks and Counting

Can't believe the big day is only about 9 weeks away..where has the time gone!  Thank goodness dad and Blair have tackled the baby room this week!
Here is me and baby at 30.5 weeks.

I Know I Know...It's Been A While!!

My sister (whom lives 6 hrs away) has kindly reminded me that I have really been slipping on the ol blog posts these days!! For that I agree and apologize!! Stay tuned as I venture into my Project Life December, chronicling the lead up to Christmas!  Also have exciting news to share about the kids and yikes only 9 weeks till baby is due! Stay tuned, hope to post REALLY soon!

Winter is here....... :(

As I write this, I can hear the wind howling outside and can see the "white stuff" on the ground.  That's right, I guess winter has arrived and arrived with a vengeance at that.  I am away from home for a couple of days at a conference for work and should have known that since I would have to be on the road that the "white stuff" was sure to come!  Winter driving never used to bother me in my earlier days but since having children perspective on a lot of things has changed and my feelings about winter driving is one of them!

I talked with the boys tonight and they seemed pretty excited about seeing the snow.  Their dad on the other hand...not so much.  Especially when it now comes to winter coats and boots (of which we totally are not prepared).  So while I am out and about on my "working vacation"....ya right on the vacation... I decided to do a little boot shopping for the boys...something about buying winter boots, Halloween costumes and candy at the same time is just wrong!  Hopefully I made a good guesstimate and the sizes will be close.

On the plus note, this does excite me for the Christmas season that is just around the corner...probably my favourite time of year!  To all of you out there in blog land and under the same winter storm watch as us Saskatchewanians....stay warm and safe!!

Potty Talk

I am starting to think that our youngest, B who is 3, will be going to Kindergarten in diapers!  All week I was preparing myself to tackle the potty today with him and get him into his gotchies and peeing on the potty.....well I thought wrong!

The day started out with a struggle over wearing gotch and him winning.....wearing a pull-up...only to be followed by a massive melt down as I tried to get him to sit on the potty to try to go pee!  Not sure why this little man has such an issue with the "potty" but seems we are going to have a struggle on our hands!

Here's to hoping that with lot's of "potty talk" we are going to be able to convince our stubborn little B that is the next big boy step to take..... :)

And it ALL Begins!

It is official.....the days of running with the boys to the rink have began!  C started power skating tonight.....and loved it!  Although he did seem fairly tired after.  This week should prove to be interesting between full days at school, daycare and power skating.

I have to admit, I am excited for him as it seems to be something that he loves.  Just not sure if this mom is cut out to be a "hockey mom"...so...if you see me hiding in the corner watching by myself, you know why!!

B turns 3

Today was a busy day at our house! B turns 3 tomorrow so we had most of his grandparents over for a birthday party.  He was spoiled yet again but had a great day.  Here are a few pictures from the day!

I stole the idea of the lego cake from Starr Mercer.  Definitely much harder than it looks.  Tip to the wise...be sure that everything is really frozen when you icing.  The cupcakes were pretty much thawed when it came time to icing them and thus I had crumbs everywhere!

A little bit of "Green"

Wow is it already Wednesday this week and I haven't posted about our weekend....oops time is slipping away (actually it's just September in general as we try to get back into the groove of both of us working, daycare and of course the many volunteer meetings that come along with all of that!)

We had a great weekend.  On Saturday we checked out the Rider Play it Safe Day or Meet the Riders (not really sure what it is called) at Mosaic Stadium.  Here is a picture of us ready to go....
Upon arriving at the stadium and trying to figure out where to get in this massive lineup, we spotted my husbands sister and her family and conveniently joined them in line!  Once in the stadium, we enjoyed a free hot dog and beverage and the kids received some great loot...then it was onto the field for some autographs (who am I kidding, our kids could have cared less about autographs), it was football time with lot's of "tackles".  All of the kids had an absolute blast running around and checking things out!  So glad we took this event in!  Here are a few pics of the fun ....ok having trouble getting the picture to go in the right spot so they are kinda scattered throughout the post...sorry about that :(

That evening it was pretty low key!  We headed back to my husbands parents where they watched the kids while we snuck in a nap...very much appreciated!  The next day Blair and I took in the Labour Day Classic where the Riders snuck out another win...as ugly as it may have been a W is a W!  This was followed by a very long three hour ride home in pouring rain!  But on the plus side..it was nice to be home!

We enjoyed a very and I mean VERY lazy Sunday at our house!  With dreary weather outside, it was a day of lazy leisure! In the afternoon C went to hang out with Grandpa and work in his shop, B and I had a fairly lengthy nap while Blair worked on the butt groove in the couch!! All in all a great day to end the busy long weekend!

Side note:  We are now one fish down...have to find one next weekend as C's fish is looking pretty lonely!

More Panana Bread Please!

I had to share this funny little story with you...it also happened this morning!  When the boys got up they wanted a snack of "banana bread" (B calls it Panana bread....too cute). I proceeded to get them their snack and off to the shower I went.

Halfway through I hear "Mom I want more Panana Bread!".  My response "Just a minute B mom will be out in about two minutes".  So I get out of the shower ask B if he still wants more Panana Bread only to receive the response of "Mom I got a piece I cut it all by myself...(Keep in mind he's not yet 3!)"  My response "Oh did you".  B... "Yup and mom I didn't even cut my fingers off".....................what can I say........PRICELESS!

Mom...I need you to take a picture!

This morning as I am getting ready to leave for work C comes running in the house!  I look at him...he quickly says "Mom...I NEED you to come take a picture of me and something."  My response "What do you NEED a picture of?".  C "Well mom come take a picture of me and my bike and I'm going to stand like .......(as he proceeds to describe exactly where and how he wants to stand with his bike!)"  How could I resist...so grab the camera and here is the picture he desperately wanted!!

Too cute and a great way to start the day!

Happy Friday Everyone and have a GREAT long weekend....can't wait to share our weekend with you!

New Addition to our House

Last Thursday we headed out to the "Annual Gold Fish Swim" at our local pool.  The kids are always excited about the opportunity to swim with the fishies and try their luck at catching one.  Took a little to convince B that he wouldn't need his fishing rod for the task!  Both boys had great luck with the assistance of their dad!

I am happy to report that four days later we still have two live...swimming fish! Thanks to Grandma they have a new home (a fish tank with a pump instead of a trusty old fish bowl) and seem quite happy in it.

Here's a few pics of the swim...

Ahhh....Lazy Weekend

This weekend is just what the Dr. ordered!  Last night it kicked off with my husbands staff BBQ, hosted at our house.  The company was great and it was a great way to end a hectic week.  After C's first day he was super tired and wasn't the most sociable but everyone understood.

Today we checked out the Family Fun Day, a local fundraiser for our swimming pool.  Blair was suppose to bob for apples in chocolate pudding as part of one of the events but it was moved to Tuesday at the school (I hope to get some pics from that!).  Then we had family nap time.  We were all in need of one!

This evening I joined Blair at the golf course for a fantastic steak supper at his baseball wind-up.  Then home for me to take the sitter home and have a little R&R time (he's out with the boys tonight).

Tomorrow we hope to have a nice quiet day again...maybe get some laundry done...maybe not...we'll see what the day brings!

P.S - I was exited to finally feel Baby #3 kick this week!  Wow how I love that feeling! :)

My Baby Starts School

Friday was quite the day at our house.  C started Kindergarten!  He was so excited he was up early very excited to get out the door!  I think dad was pretty excited to have him at school too.  C was waiting outside his door at lunch and after school ready to go with dad.  I knew it was a hit when he said that school was more fun than daycare and home!

B survived the day without his "brodder" around and having mom home from work for the day.  We spent the morning running errands and had a little quality time on the couch sharing a snack.  Then he spent pretty much the whole afternoon napping...taking advantage of a quiet house.  I have to admit I may have snuck in a few zzz's as well.

Here are a few pictures of the first day...enjoy!

Summer Vaca

A couple of weeks ago I took the week off and we had plans of going camping somewhere in Saskatchewan.  Our final decision was to check out Buffalo Pound Provincial Park near Moose Jaw, Sk.  We had intentions of staying 3 to 4 nights but the weather got the best of us!  After two nights of "not the greatest" weather, we decided to pack up and head home.  Here is one picture of the boys that I was able to snap during the few minutes of sunshine that we did have.  It was memorabale vaca to say the least!

One of my favourites!

Was going through some photos from the last couple of months the other day and this is one of my favourites!

C's "First Time" Knee Boarding

Over the weekend I was editing some pictures and have a few I thought would be fun to share.  The weekend we spent camping we had the privelge to spend some time out on the boat with my Aunt and Uncle.  C took great pleasure in this and took advantage of every chance he had to jump on the tube or knee board.  Here are some pics...enjoy.....

Fishing & "Dad I can't swim"

I couldn't resist sharing this one as I thought it was rather cute.  My husband decided to take the two boys fishing last night at their local "favourite" fishing spot.  This was only the second time he has taken both boys and thus was sure to be an adventure.  My dad went with them which I think was a great thing.

So I was busy catching up on books when my phone went off, only to have a text from my husband.  "B just fell in the water up to his waist".  I couldn't resist....I laughed out loud and responded "That's funny".  I know what a nice compassionate mom...but if you only knew B's personality!

When they arrived home I had to get the low down.  Of course B blamed his "brodder" for pushing him in although his brother had nothing to do with it.  The funniest part was apparently he kept saying to his dad "Dad I can't swim!"  like really dad!!  Anyway, I think it was good for a few laughs although he didn't think it was too funny!

Hmm...Where to Vacation!

As I had mentioned, my husband was playing ball this past weekend.  They won their playoffs and thus we are off to Kindersley, Saskatchewan for his baseball Provincials.  Thus..let the summer vacation planning begin.  We have been waiting to see where it would take us and now we know!

We will spend next weekend in K town then thought we would head off to Drumheller to show the boys all the fun dinosaur "stuff" that they have to offer.  Then we are unsure, we would like to camp at one of the wonderful Provincial Campgrounds in Saskatchewan but as of yet the verdict is out as to where we will stay!

Where ever we go, I am sure we will make some wonderful memories and have lot's of fun!

Friday is HERE!!!

So bring on the weekend............

Actually, quite excited about this weekend as we are staying HOME!! Yes, that hasn't happened for some time now! Although we will be home, it will be a busy one, but that's good too!

Tonight I will rush home from work, have a quick change, run and pick up the sitter...which the kids can't wait for!..then off to a work BBQ with my husband...Oh yes then off to see some girls after that! Looking forward to seeing a good friend that is home for the weekend. What a great way to kick off a long weekend!

Saturday hopefully I can get some house work done and check out the great sale at our local nursery to hopefully get some trees or shrubs for our back yard. Then off to celebrate by Grandma's Birthday!

Sunday the boys and I are debating taking a zoo and shopping day as my husband will be away playing ball....we'll just wait and see what the day brings. Monday hopefully a little R & R then back to the grind.

Sounds like a busy weekend but looking forward to it! Happy long weekend!

Hump Day

Well today was just another average day in our life. I was out of town at a workshop for the entire day and the boys where home with their dad for the day. (My husband is a teacher and thus has the summer's off and is home spending quality time with the boys) The boys had a very productive day getting many of the items on the outdoor "To Do" list checked off.

Tonight C got to go fishing with his dad and Grandpa M which made him very happy. He sure is quite the little fisherman! Although tonight him and his father got "skunked" if you will! Grandpa caught five..."but three were really little and had to go back" and dad and C caught 0. B and I had supper with my mom and had a great visit. Now I'm pooped and ready to head to bed for a good nights sleep....toodles!

A "Tenting" we went

This past weekend we tried our hand at tenting with the two boys. We try to do this a couple of times a year and the boys love it to say the least!

We all had a great time. We had relatives at the place we went and C was able to try knee boarding for the first time......silly me forgot my camera in the car (which I can't believe I did) so no pictures to document that.

To the left is a picture of C having our "traditional" bacon and eggs over the campfire breakfast.

Welcome

Welcome to by blog! So I have been pondering the idea of blogging about my life as a way to kind of diarize life with my family. My sister things it is a fantastic idea, my mom and husband on the other hand are a little unsure about the whole thing! So....here it goes....what the heck!

Welcome to our life! I am a working mom in my very late twenties (holding onto that for another year!), have a wonderful loving and caring husband, and two beautiful children. Our oldest whom I will refer to as C is heading to Kindergarten this year...wow where has the time gone! B..he will be three this fall and is a busy boy...and a bit of a mama suck! So welcome...I hope you enjoy and this brings a smile to your face!
